Avadh University which was rechristened as Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University in memoriam of late Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia an epic socio-economic ideologue and freedom fighter par excellence. The government of Uttar Pradesh exercising the powers enshrined in the U.P. University Act, 1973 section 4 (1-A) (b), by it’s notification No. 4546/ 15-10-75 dated 25 July, 1975 established University as sheer an affiliating University.
Validity of ‘Eligibility Certificate’ :-
The Common Eligibility Test ‘CET’ will determine the eligibility of candidates for registration/admission in Ph.D. Programmes in various U.P. State Universities. A list of qualified candidates along with their score will be notified for General/OBC/SC/ST categories. Eligibility certificate (with score) will be valid for next two years from the date of issue.
To qualify the UP PHD entrance exam / PHD CET, candidates have to secure minimum 40% marks in each Paper and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation in minimum marks shall be available to SC/ST candidates. ‘UGC minimum standards and procedures for award of M.Phil./Ph.D. degree Regulation 2009’ read with clarification on Guidelines for admission in Ph.D. circulated vide Letter No. F.1-1/2002(PS)/Exemp Part file III March 2011 shall be applicable with respect to NET qualified candidates.
